Decommissioning and Recycling
of retired Submarine Cables
Since 2014, Subsea Environmental Services has been recovering out of service (OOS), submarine telecommunication cables from the seabed and recycling their components. Over the past decade, Subsea has acquired its cable portfolio from all major legacy telcos. Our submarine cable inventory is currently in excess of 300,000 kms, making Subsea one of the largest owners of submarine cable in the world. With the introduction of our next 2 vessels in 2025 we anticipate being able to recovery With the expansion of our deep sea operaiotns and shore end

At Subsea, we are dedicated to sustainably harnessing the untapped potential of out-of-service (OOS) cables by reintroducing the recycled material back into the global supply chain. Recycling these cables is both a viable and efficient means to source raw materials while simultaneously demonstrating marine environmental stewardship.
